There’s something special about catching the first night of a tour – it’s a mix of anticipation and energy that’s hard to replicate. Never Ending Fall brought exactly that to Brighton Music Hall in Boston, MA, kicking off in unforgettable style their co-headlining tour with the Hails and opener The Thing With Feathers.

Repping Boston in full force, the band hit the stage in Celtics and Red Sox shirts, immediately connecting with the hometown crowd. The group, consisting of lead singer Jack Miller, drummer Tommy StClair, guitarist and keyboardist Conrad Boyd, guitarist Pearce Eisenhardt, and bassist Johnny Hohman, have been together since they were in the 4th grade, which shows clearly in their musicianship and chemistry. They launched into the night with “Slow Motion”, setting a groove-driven tone that carried through the entire set.

One of the most memorable moments was the debut of an unreleased track, “You”. It’s rare for a new song to land so smoothly with a live audience, but judging by the reaction this one is going to be a fan favorite fast. Their connection with the audience was on point all night – between songs, they shouted out Boston as one of their favorite cities to play in and continuously thanked the audience for their love and support.

“Isabel” and “American Disco” stood out as highlights of the night. Both songs hit with infectious grooves and tight, polished performances, proving why Never Ending Fall’s live shows are getting the love they deserve. Just when it seemed like the crowd couldn’t possibly have any more energy, they dropped a cover of Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire” that had the whole room screaming along.

The surprises didn’t stop there. New material kept coming with “Sweet Tooth,” showcasing the band’s flexibility and leaning toward an alt-rock sound. To close the night, the band played an energetic cover of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” into their own “Under My Skin,” a perfect, high-energy finale to their set.

As far as opening nights go, it doesn’t get any better than this. If night one was any indication, this tour is going to be something special. Catch them now before they’re selling out bigger venues – you won’t regret it.
