The Lumineers Bring Generational Joy to Chase Center

BY PAIGE ERLANDSON

The Lumineers lit up Chase Center on August 5th with a performance that felt both intimate and expansive, marking their biggest San Francisco show to date. As part of their Automatic World Tour, the band brought their signature blend of heartfelt folk rock and crowd-pleasing anthems to a packed arena of fans who came ready to sing, sway, and celebrate together.

The energy in the room was undeniable from the moment they stepped on stage. Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites, the band’s charismatic frontmen, led the performance with heartfelt vocals and dynamic stage presence, perfectly balancing raw emotion and infectious enthusiasm. Supporting them, Stelth Ulvang on keyboards and guitar, Byron Isaacs on bass, and Lauren Jacobson on violin and backing vocals, each adding layers of depth and warmth that brought the songs to life in a rich and textured way.

What stood out most was the makeup of the audience. A sea of teens sang along to every word like it was the soundtrack to their lives, right alongside longtime fans who’ve been with the band since the beginning. Parents and kids danced together, showing how easily The Lumineers bridge generational gaps.

This was more than just a concert; it was a shared experience, full of joy and connection. The band’s ability to make a 19,000-seat arena feel like a living room gathering is a testament to their authenticity and emotional reach.
